06 — The Story
Two paths.
One purpose.
There's a kind of clarity that only comes from walking with your feet in the sand. On Vancouver Island, the mountains don't ask permission to be grand, the ocean doesn't apologize for its depth, and the trees have been standing longer than any of us will. It's the kind of place that quietly shapes the people who choose to call it home.
Andrew grew up understanding that kind of honesty.
His first career began with a camera and a curiosity that couldn't be contained. A diploma in photography and marketing led him to Vancouver, where he spent six years learning the language of visual storytelling — how a single image can stop someone, how light tells the truth about a subject, how composition makes the difference between being seen and being felt. He was gifted. He was driven. And like most young creatives, he was still figuring out what all that talent was actually for.
So curiosity lead him down another path, one more tangible and useful.
Fifteen years as an electrician, working across most of western Canada had built something in him that no classroom could. He worked in the field, managed crews, ran operations, and finished in technical sales, following the footsteps of his father, and culminating in his master electrical certificate in 2023. He has sat across the table from small business owners who were brilliant at their trade and overwhelmed by everything else. He understood their language — the early mornings, the job site conversations, the frustrations, and the gap between the work they did and the way the world saw them.
Two people lived inside those years. The creative who saw the world in frames. The tradesman who understood how businesses breathe.
Akita Creative is where they finally intersect.
This isn't a pivot. It isn't a side project born out of restlessness. It's the natural convergence of everything he's learned — poured into something built to last, in a place worth building for, alongside people worth building with.
Rooted in the Pacific Northwest. Driven by craft.
